I vetted 12 different photographers during our wedding planning process and chose Adam. Best choice I made. Originally, I was really attracted to his work, specifically his attention to background and detail, but working with him during our engagement shoot really drove home the decision for me. Adam is professional beyond measure, but he also keeps the atmosphere fun and light. He stayed right on schedule with our timeline, and even pulled us away to make sure we got shots that would be important to us later on (he was right). Hiring Adam Michaels for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made during the entire planning process. We had the pleasure of working with both Adam and Jade, who served as our second photographer. Not only are they incredibly talented, but they’re also down-to-earth, professional, and fun to be around. We felt instantly comfortable with both of them.
As the bride, I had more direct interaction with Adam, our main photographer. Our package included an engagement session, which I highly recommend to anyone booking a wedding photographer. It helped my now-husband and me get comfortable in front of the camera, better understand posing, and ease our nerves ahead of our wedding day. Adam was the perfect guide throughout–he broke the ice right away and somehow managed to make us look and feel natural in every one of our engagement photos.
On the wedding day, Adam joined me in the bridal suite for the “getting ready” photos, while Jade headed to the grooms’ suite (Jade also perfectly arranged our “wedding details,” which captured so so beautifully). Adam’s presence was so calming–he was personable, friendly, and made everyone in the bridal party feel at ease. He even went out of his way to help my mum give instructions to an out-of-town guest who had gotten lost. He was so patient on the phone, and my mum still talks about how amazing Adam was during that moment.
Both Adam and Jade have a remarkable eye for capturing “the shot.” They were clear at directing us, keeping things on schedule, and making sure we got all of the photos we wanted–posed, candid, between us, with our wedding party, with our families, at the ceremony, at the reception, and every moment in between. They handled our families and group shots with ease and grace, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable and included. Finally, the photos came back more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. We received our photos in both color and black and white, which adds a timeless flair. Thanks to Adam and Jade, we now have an album of memories we will treasure forever.

We are beyond thrilled with our engagement and wedding photos! Jade is absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, she made both of us feel comfortable in front of the camera (which is no small feat since we’re both usually awkward with photos). She had us laughing, relaxed, and actually having fun during the process.
Jade has such an amazing eye - she captured candid moments that tell the story of the day and every detail we cared about, from the decor to the funniest moments captured within milliseconds of each other. Adam Michaels Photography is the BEST!!! They are so reasonable on pricing compared to other photographers in the Pittsburgh area that ask for outrageous amounts of $$$. Not only is Adam Michaels affordable but the pictures and service we received was top tier!! Another thing to note is that our engagement photos were complimentary (some photographers charge for these!!). The pictures they produce are so crisp and bright but yet still very artsy. I wanted high quality timeless photos that weren’t overly edited / overly grainy / overly dark & moody but still have an artistic touch and they provide exactly that.
Throughout the entire process Jade was truly a pro. For engagement photos she knows exactly how to pose you (in case you aren’t comfortable doing that yourselves) and guides you through every step of the session. (Or if you are comfortable and posing already she will tell you it looks good or to move your face this way, move your hand that way, etc). She squeezed in two locations for us because we wanted some at Hartwood Acres in some city ones at The Point.
For our wedding day, she blew us all away. She was able to capture so many special moments while we barely realized she was even there, she took absolute control when we needed group pictures taken at the reception - corralling people and yelling instructions so we could get them taken as quickly as possible. She also would capture candids (something I really wanted), but then also ask us to stop and pose for a second for moments like the cake cutting for example. I really like that we had both candids and posed pictures (in case candids didn’t turn out).
Jade worked with us up until the wedding day and worked with our vendors and coordinator to create a complete photo timeline of the day. This really helped us feel comfortable that that day would go smoothly and allowed us to factor in different options for photo locations and photo opportunities ahead of time. The wedding day was very relaxed because she kept us on time, told us how many minutes we had left at locations, and stuck to the timeline so that we didn’t have to worry about it.
The day after the wedding we had hundreds (not 50 or 100 I’m talking like 400) sneak peak photos already edited and downloaded for our viewing. It was awesome to have a TON of beautiful photos to go through with family the next day to re-live the previous night.
Then - a short 2 months later we received all of the pictures and were and still are OBSESSED with them!!! If you were thinking about booking Adam Michaels Photography - just do it! You will NOT regret it.

We used Adam for our NYE wedding at Nemacolin, and he was incredible. Adam and Jade photographed our day. Everything was so organized—from the detailed timeline beforehand to the prep and flow of the wedding day. He kept it running smoothly and was on top of every detail. Our photos turned out beautiful, and we couldn’t be happier with them! His price point was also great.. he stayed past midnight for the ball drop, and we received our photos back within just a couple of days very quick turnaround. Highly recommend using him!

Our package was incredibly reasonable, especially considering it included an engagement session, a second shooter for the wedding, and unlimited day-of coverage. We had more fun than we ever thought possible during our engagement shoot with Adam! It was such a fun and relaxed experience and was the perfect way to ease our nerves about being in front of the camera before the wedding. We were blown away by our engagement photos!
On our wedding day, we had the pleasure of working with both Adam and Jade. Jade photographed our engagement and wedding and we couldn’t be happier! We had our ceremony and reception at LeMont and did photos beforehand at the CMU columns, and our photos are gorgeous. Jade is everything you need in a photographer. She is talented, personable, professional, and she made us feel comfortable with her from the very first meeting. We used Adam for our wedding photography for our wedding on 10/3/2025 at the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens. We had a great experience working with him! Our package also came with engagement photos. This was really helpful to get to know Adam and he made us feel comfortable as two awkward people who don't like photos. On the wedding day, Adam was organized and kept the day moving to make sure all of the formal photos were captured. He was great at giving directions to everyone so everything went smoothly. A real professional. During the reception, he was able to capture so many wonderful candid moments and group shots of all our guests. We cannot recommend Adam Michael’s Photography enough! From start to finish Adam and Jade were an absolute joy to work with. Their ability to capture every special moment, big and small, is truly remarkable. Before I even booked with them, I made it very clear that having photos with my very stubborn, potentially uncooperative 6 year old Siberian Husky, they not only embraced my vision- they were so patient and helpful with him. Adam and Jade were so great! All of the photos turned out even better than we expected. Neither of us are that into taking photos so having Adam to pose us and ensure the photos would turn out great was helpful. Having a photographer like Adam to really help with the timeline for the day and making sure everything stayed on schedule was great. He was also willing to do whatever we wanted and didn’t mind when we wanted to take photos in the rain. Adam is a true professional. At our engagement shoot, he made us feel calm in front of the camera and captured such beautiful photos! His work speaks for itself. Adam Michaels and Jade were an absolute joy to work with for our July wedding. First, we had an engagement shoot and while I was nervous (haven't had professional photos done prior) both Adam and Jade were able to communicate what we should do. They were personable, got to know us as people (hobbies, activities etc), and got to know us better in order to tailor the shoot to what we wanted and what we were willing to do. They were able to send our photos in a very quick turnaround which was awesome to see as well. We were blown away by the shots.
Then we had the wedding. Being a destination wedding it was a new venue, Adam and Jade arrived early at the venue to scope out places for shots and ideas. They captured the 'lay flat' items and got getting ready photos of bridesmaids getting ready in the AM. They captured the groomsman arriving at a different location and getting ready photos (serious and funny ones). They were there at each of the 'moments' capturing photos and yet they were not in the way of it being just us. They suggest ideas but are also flexible in adapting to what you want/are able/can do (i.e. wearing a dress is restricting). They are extremely easy to work with and even played music while getting photos to let you loosen up and have your personality shine. They were able to get a sneak peek to us very quickly which was WAY more than the 20 photos I was expecting- I was super impressed and the photos again are amazing. In looking at the entirety of the wedding photos, which we got back super quickly as well, I have said, "I don't remember this shot but they captured it and the emotion perfectly".
It wasn't how my husband and I looked or how aglow we were on our day (it is our wedding after all) or how beautiful the background or the venue's beauty were- all those are amazing wherever you get married. Adam and Jade captured that beauty but they 'read' me and my husband well and are so talented in capturing the special moments with your feelings and personalities and expressions in the moment all at the same time. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Adam and his partner, Jade, made us feel incredibly comfortable from the first time we talked with them to the first time that we met them in person, 15 minutes before the “first look” on our wedding day. On your wedding day, you will be nervous and anxious, but Jade and Adam were so friendly, professional, and just plain great (for more, see the write up in the Pittsburgh Tribune) that we were instantly put at ease (and this is reflected in the photos). Adam had a playlist, full of great songs, that helped us relax and feel at ease and it added a nice soundtrack to the photoshoot. Adam and Jade gave us the right amount of direction to ensure that not only were the photos composed perfectly but that we also looked our best in them. They also asked for our input on poses and where to take photos, which helped us realize what we wanted (realize in both senses of “making real” and “making aware of” and I appreciated that). The combination of their ability to make us comfortable and their tons of experience working weddings led to an amazing experience and fantastic photos.
My wife and I were absolutely shocked by how well all of the photos looked and how quickly Adam was able to return the photos to us. The photos are all beautifully composed and edited; we look like the best versions of ourselves in each of the 1,000 photos Adam gave us. Adam and Jade ensured that they got every picture that we asked for, and through their suggestions we got pictures that we didn’t know we wanted but now absolutely love and adore. Finally, there were no poorly composed or poorly cropped photos; he and Jade (who is also amazing, talented, professional, and great) never appear in the photos the other took and the photos are never slightly off center (when you look through some photographers’ galleries, you may notice that people are slightly out of place, including seeing the other photographer, but not Adam’s).
Bottom line: Go with Adam Michaels.
